Stream Hatchet’s data reveals an extraordinary surge in GTA V viewership, peaking at 874 million hours watched in Q2 2021. Roleplay streams have played a pivotal role, claiming 23.4% of the game’s market share on major platforms like Twitch, YouTube-Gaming, Facebook Live, and Kick. Q2 2023 witnessed over 85 million hours dedicated to this immersive content, setting the stage for GTA 6’s monumental impact.

Renowned creators, S8UL, recognized as ‘Content Creator of the Year’ at the Esports Awards 2023, collaborated with Velocity Gaming to craft a star-studded roleplay server in GTA V, amplifying the game’s influence in the Indian Esports scene.

Real-world brands like Civilist and MISBHV have previously collaborated with GTA Online, showcasing the game’s influence beyond the virtual realm and laying the groundwork for dynamic brand integrations.

The gaming streaming market in India is on an upward trajectory, with a projected market volume of US$233.00 million by 2028, according to Statista. The imminent arrival of GTA 6 is set to further amplify the audience for gaming creators, providing an ideal space for brands to seamlessly integrate into this dynamic and thriving space.

Saloni Kandalgaonkar, aka Mili Kya Mili, underscores the game’s impact on the Indian gaming landscape, stating, “The global popularity of GTA 6 will act as a catalyst for gaming creators, providing them with a boost in viewership and also opening up new avenues for brand sponsorships and collaborations.”

The HP India Gaming Landscape Study 2023 sheds light on the dominance of PCs, preferred by 67% of gamers in India. In a mobile-dominated gaming market, GTA 6 is poised to attract a substantial player base to PC and console gaming, effectively bridging the gap between platforms.

Gulrez Khan, aka Joker Ki Haveli, anticipates the game’s potential to revitalize the PC and console gaming sector, expressing, “GTA 6 will bring a big boost to the PC and console gaming communities in India.”

Since its 2013 launch, GTA V has achieved staggering sales of over 190 million units worldwide as of November 2023, securing its position as the second best-selling video game of all time, according to Statista. With the unveiling of the GTA 6 trailer creating waves of excitement, it’s evident that unprecedented opportunities await India’s gaming content creators to capitalize on this gaming phenomenon.
