In a dazzling showcase of athletic prowess, Reliance Foundation athletes have etched their names in the annals of sports history with an outstanding total of 30 medals at the National Games, Goa 2023.

This remarkable achievement, comprising an impressive 15 Gold, 8 Silver, and 7 Bronze medals, underscores their unwavering commitment to excellence. Over 40 dedicated athletes from Reliance Foundation participated, leaving an indelible mark on this prestigious competition.

Jyothi Yarraji’s Hat-Trick and Tejas Shirse’s Record-Breaking Feat: Renowned hurdler Jyothi Yarraji concluded her season with a remarkable hat-trick at the National Games, rewriting the meet record in the women’s 100m hurdles, clinching Gold with a phenomenal time of 13.22s. Tejas Shirse, living up to his pre-tournament favorite status, dominated the men’s 110m hurdles, clinching Gold in style and setting a new meet record with a time of 13.71s.

Additional Athletic Triumphs:

  • Asian Games medalist Gulveer Singh secured Gold in the 5000m event, coupled with a Bronze in the men’s 10000m, achieving a remarkable long-distance double.
  • Sprinter Elakkkiyadasan shone bright, winning Gold in both the men’s 100m and the men’s 4x100m relay.
  • Javelin thrower Kishore Kumar Jena, bound for the Paris Olympics, claimed Bronze with a best throw of 78.47m.
  • Pole vaulter Baranica Elangovan soared to Gold, clearing a height of 3.90m.

  • Anupama Upadhyaya clinched Gold in the women’s singles event, asserting herself as both the reigning National Champion and National Games Champion.
  • Fresh from her historic triumph at the Asian Games, Palak Gulia secured double Gold in the women’s 10m air pistol and mixed 10m air pistol events.
  • Archers Mrinal Chauhan and Ridhi contributed to the medal haul, with Mrinal winning Gold in the men’s team event and Silver in the mixed team event. Ridhi secured Gold in the women’s team event in the recurve category.

In a momentous wrestling showdown, Reetika Hooda, the reigning world Under 23 Champion, defeated Olympian Divya Kakran 10-0 in the finals, claiming the National Games Gold.
