Dipika Pallikal and Harindar Pal Singh Sidhu orchestrated a stunning comeback, securing their place in the mixed doubles semifinals and ensuring India’s coveted medal. Their gripping quarterfinal clash saw them triumph over Jemyca Aribado and Andrew Garica of the Philippines, with scores of 7-11, 11-5, 11-4.

While Dipika and Harinder’s victory shone brightly, there was a bittersweet moment for India as Tanvi Khanna faced a valiant battle in the women’s singles quarterfinals, ultimately succumbing to a determined Satomi Watanabe, with the scoreline reading 5-11, 6-11, 12-14.

The mixed doubles encounter against the Philippines began with the opposing team seizing a 9-6 lead, but the Indian duo, Dipika and Harinder, showcased their resilience in the subsequent games. They capitalized on their opponents’ struggles to consistently hit the front wall and effectively retrieve the ball, securing their triumph.

In earlier matches, Dipika and Harinder Sidhu demonstrated their dominance, effortlessly defeating Japan’s Risa Sugimoto and Tomotaka Endo with a resounding score of 2-0 (11-5, 11-5) in Pool A. Simultaneously, Anahat Singh joined forces with Abhay Singh to conquer Hong Kong’s Tsz Wing Tong and Ming Hong Tang with a score of 2-0 (11-10, 11-8) in Pool D.

As the day progressed, the excitement continued to mount as Sourav Ghosal geared up to face off against Japan’s Tsukue Ryunosuke in the eagerly anticipated men’s quarterfinals.
