Aishwary Tomar Secures Gold in 50m Rifle 3P at Asian Shooting Championships

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar exhibited exceptional skill, clinching the gold in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions individual event and contributing significantly to India’s team silver at the fiercely contested Asian Shooting Championship held in Changwon, Korea.

Despite finishing fifth in the qualification round with an impressive score of 591, Tomar emerged triumphant in the final, scoring a remarkable 463.5.

In a closely fought competition, China’s Tian Jiaming secured the silver with a score of 462.7, followed by compatriot Du Linshu, who earned the bronze with 450.3 points.

The combined efforts of Tomar, Swapnil Kusale, and Akhil Sheoran propelled India to a well-deserved team silver with an aggregate score of 1764, just shy of China’s leading score of 1777.

India’s stellar performance extends beyond the Asian Shooting Championship, with already secured Olympic quota places in this event through the exceptional performances of Kusale and Sheoran.

Kusale clinched a quota spot during the World Championships in Cairo last year, while Sheoran replicated this feat in this year’s World Championships in Baku. This monumental achievement solidifies India’s strong representation in the upcoming Olympic Games.
