In a breathtaking display of determination and skill, Indian para-athletes have etched their names in the annals of history, clinching an unprecedented 100 medals at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou. The crowning achievement came from Dilip Mahadu Gavit, who blazed through the Men’s 400m T47 event in a staggering 49.48 seconds.

This seismic accomplishment marks India’s most dazzling performance ever in the Para Asian Games, adorned with an astounding 26 golds, 29 silvers, and 45 bronze medals.

The accomplishment echoed far and wide, earning accolades from none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who hailed this historic milestone as a beacon of inspiration. “Our hearts swell with pride at this remarkable achievement,” he exulted.

The final day of the Games saw rowers Anita and Narayana Konganapalle seize a silver in the PR3 Mixed Doubles Sculls, adding to the crescendo of India’s success across Athletics, Chess, and Rowing.

Friday’s medal spree, featuring 7 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze medals, was a testament to India’s absolute dominance. Sheetal Devi’s archery finesse was a sight to behold, while Dharmaraj Solairaj’s record-shattering leap in the Men’s Long Jump T64 left spectators in awe.

In the Badminton arena, Nitesh Kumar and Tarun forged an unstoppable partnership, securing gold in the men’s doubles SL3-SL4 category.

Meanwhile, Pramod Bhagat and Nitesh Kumar’s pulsating showdown in men’s singles SL3 culminated in gold and silver, painting an unforgettable narrative of victory. Thulasimathi’s triumph in women’s singles SU5 was a resounding declaration of India’s unassailable position in Badminton.

Raman Sharma’s gold in the men’s 1500m T-38 event was the crowning jewel in India’s already illustrious performance.
