In a game-changing decision, the Sports Ministry officially recognizes the Handball Association of India (HAI) as the governing body responsible for handball in the country! 🎉🏆 This comes following the election of Digvijay Chautala as HAI President and Jagan Mohan Rao as Secretary General, marking the end of a prolonged deadlock caused by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) intervention.
Excitingly, the IOA extends recognition to HAI after an agreement for a merger with the Handball Federation of India (HFI). The sport can now forge ahead with renewed vigor, especially with the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games on the horizon. 🏅🤾♀️
With the administrative issues resolved, India’s handball future looks brighter than ever! 🌟 The Ministry’s letter addressed to the HAI President and Secretary General proclaims, “In order to have a fully functional NSF to run the affairs of handball, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has decided to recognize Handball Association of India as NSF for the promotion and regulation of handball in the country with immediate effect.”
The Ministry acknowledges HAI’s affiliation with the International Handball Federation, Asian Handball Federation, and the Indian Olympic Association, making it the rightful choice as the National Sports Federation (NSF). 🤝✅
Amidst the confusion that marred the sport’s growth, handball was even dropped from the National Games in Gujarat. But now, with the transparent election of HAI under the supervision of Retd. District Judge Justice Deepak Kumar Srivastava, unity and direction are restored.
Digvijay Chautala and Jagan Mohan Rao’s shared vision of uplifting handball in India 🇮🇳🤾♂️🌟 bodes well for the sport’s future. The athletes can now focus on their preparations for the prestigious Hangzhou Asian Games with renewed enthusiasm!
The Sports Ministry’s historic move signifies a new beginning for handball in India – a journey filled with promise, passion, and pride! 🤩💪
