Sai Sudharsan made things easy for India A with his brilliant knock as he finished off the match in style with a six.
India A dominated the ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023, thanks to a stunning century from opener Sai Sudharsan and a five-wicket haul by Rajvardhan Hangargekar. Their combined efforts powered India A to a convincing 8-wicket victory over Pakistan A.
Sudharsan’s brilliant knock took India A to an easy win, as he reached the triple-figure mark with a six off Shahnawaz Dahani. He formed a crucial 99-run partnership with Nikin Jose, who added 53 runs to the total.
Even though it seemed unlikely for Sudharsan to reach a century with just a few runs left to score, he showed tremendous determination and finished with an unbeaten 104 runs off 110 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes.
Captain Yash Dhull also played a vital role, contributing 21* runs to help India chase down the target of 206 runs in just 36.4 overs.
On the bowling front, Hangargekar dismantled Pakistan A’s batting lineup, claiming five wickets to restrict them to a modest 205 runs. Manav Suthar also chipped in with three wickets.
Pakistan A’s Qasim Akram was the top scorer with 48 runs, but their overall batting performance was lackluster. Hangargekar’s impressive spells early on and in the death overs proved decisive.
India’s wicketkeeper, Dhruv Jurel, showcased his skills behind the stumps, taking three catches and executing one stumping to keep the pressure on Pakistan.
On the bowling side, Mubasir Khan and Mehran Mumtaz were the only ones to manage wickets for Pakistan A, with one scalp each.
India A’s exceptional performance in both batting and bowling ensured their convincing victory and showcased their strength in the ACC Emerging Cup.
